HOW TO GET DIVORCE VERY FAST IN RWANDA

Divorce refers to termination of legal marriage by couples.

GROUNDS OF DIVORCE IN RWANDA

-Adultery;

-Desertion for a period of at least twelve (12) consecutive months;

-Conviction for an offense severely tainting the honour;

-Refusal to provide for the household needs;

-Excess, abuse or serious insults by one towards another;

-Gender based violence;

-De facto separation for a period of at least two (2) years;

-Non-cohabitation for more than twelve consecutive (12) months from the day of celebration of marriage on unjustifiable grounds.

Divorce cases must be filed in Primary court.

Divorce cause has statutory limitation of 5 years.

Consent divorce cannot be filed if couples had not stayedin marriage for 2 years.

-Notarise the consent agreement

- File the matter before court

- Divorce will be proounced between 6-9 months by court
